Stretch Marks

Recent advancements in the treatment and removal of stretch marks, laser stretch mark removal, has shown to produce excellent results for many of our NY and NJ patients who want to rid their bodies of unsightly stretch marks. Laser stretch mark removal can give you back younger, healthier looking skin without scarring.

Laser stretch mark removal is safe and approved by the FDA. It is designed to treat not only stretch marks but other skin blemishes as well by safely removing layers of scarred skin.

THE LASER STRETCH MARK REMOVAL PROCEDURE

During the laser stretch mark removal procedure, a beam of light removes thin layers of skin around the stretch marks. Instead of burning or cutting the affected skin areas this specially designed laser uses high-energy, ultraviolet laser light to disrupt the molecular bonds in the skin tissue, which causes the tissue to disintegrate in a process known as ablation. Once laser stretch mark removal is complete, the treated area will heal quickly, and new layers of healthy skin will form. Stretch marks will have disappeared, and a renewed, healthy appearance will result.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER LASER STRETCH MARK REMOVAL

After the procedure is performed, the affected area will be red and tender to the touch. This is completely normal and happens because the layers of skin have been removed to allow for the re-growth of healthy layers. Occasionally blistering and other symptoms typical of a burn injury may be present, but these are temporary. Many patients report little discomfort and heal from a treatment within a few days. In soma cases, healing has been known to take as long as a few weeks, particularly those requiring more extensive therapy.

Although every case is unique, laser stretch mark removal has produced beautiful results in the majority of patients we have treated at the Lombardi Plastic Surgery Center. Results are dependent on many factors such as age and severity of stretch marks being treated.
